Epsom Athletics Academy was the inspired idea of Paul Andrews a Uk athletics coach for over 30 years and currently a vice president of Surrey County Athletics Association.
Paul explains "following London 2012 we saw unprecidented demand for athletic places across the country and where as in other sports the age of participation can be from a very young age, traditionally in athletics it has always been from U11 or even U13. We looked at the capabilities of children we knew and believed we should offer professional coaching to children from school year 2 to 4 and then feeding into Epsom and Ewell Harriers for Year 5 intake. (Where we all volunteer)
All our sessions are for fun but we have a focus on building all round athleticism. We use the fundamental building blocks from England Athletics 365. RUN. JUMP. THROW. Sessions are Monday term time only; 4.45pm to 5.45pm and a term fee equivalent to £6 session if all attended.
